Who Should Work With Me?

If my colourful and enthusiastic website hasn't scared you away yet... you might already be my ideal client!

I am open to taking clients from all walks of life. I don't discriminate against people who are different than me, and I look forward to opportunities to learn more about other types of people!

However, we might connect if you feel that we have something in common. We might get along well if you're also a young female, a member of the LGBTQ community, a (recovering) people-pleaser, a healthcare worker or frontline worker, or even someone who is just another messy human who is doing their best in this wonderful and heartbreaking world we live in.

I have lived experience in many of the areas I specialize in. I choose to focus on these areas not only because I am now more skillful in them, but because I've been there too, and I get it! My lived experience is a driving factor in my decision to become a psychotherapist. I have been in therapy myself, and have worked with therapists who truly changed my life (although I know that they would tell me I am the one who changed my own life!).

I hope to create a safe space for clients the way my therapists created a safe space for me. I want to help other people also know the emotional safety, the ability to cope with distress, the self acceptance, the joy in life, and the glimmers of hope for a brighter future that I have come to know through my own journey of healing.

You should work with me if you want a therapist that can understand parts of what you're going through and can offer empathy and kindness while you work through it. I want to help you learn that emotions don't always have to feel unsafe and scary, and that your mind doesn't have to always be your enemy.

If you choose to work with me, I will commit to showing up in a way that is both authentic and accepting, and to keep showing up for you, no matter what is going on in y0ur life.
